Help & support

How can we help?

Answers to the questions readers ask most, and a way to reach us when they aren't enough.

Common questions

Before you write.

How do I delete my account?
  1. Open the Profile tab and tap Account.
  2. Under Danger Zone, tap Delete Account, then Delete.
  3. Enter your password, or type DELETE if your account has no password, and tap Delete My Account. The Account screen shows No password set when yours has none. If your account is linked to Apple, you'll confirm with Apple next.

Deletion is immediate and can't be undone. It removes your saved verses, highlights, notes, bookmarks, reading plan progress and journal entries, badges, streaks and settings, then signs you out, which clears your downloads from that device. Your profile photo is removed from storage shortly after.

If you can't sign in, email us from the address on your account and we'll delete it for you.

How do I reset my password?
  1. On the sign-in screen, tap Forgot Password?
  2. Enter your email and tap Send Reset Code. We email you a 6-digit code from [email protected]. It expires after 15 minutes.
  3. Enter the code and a new password of at least 8 characters, then tap Reset Password.

Each code works once. If you mistype it, tap Resend code for a new one. If it hasn't arrived after a few minutes, check your spam folder. Resetting your password signs you out on your other devices.

If your account has no password (the Account screen shows No password set), there's nothing to reset: sign in with Continue with Apple or Continue with Google instead. An account that has a password can reset it this way however you usually sign in.

Which translations can I read?

Lyra Bible has seven translations. Five are in the public domain (the KJV, WEB, BSB, ASV, and NHEB), and you can read them without an account.

The NLT and NIV are licensed from their publishers through API.Bible, and you can read them with a free account. Their licenses also mean they have no audio narration, you can share up to 100 verses from them at a time, and a downloaded copy needs a connection at least once every 30 days to stay readable offline. The Terms of Service carry each publisher's copyright notice.

Can I read and listen offline?

Yes, with a free account. Open the Profile tab and tap Offline Library.

  • Under Reading, tap a translation to download its text.
  • Under Listening, open a translation and pick from Featured Books, or tap View all 66 books, to download audio book by book.

To save a reading plan's audio, open the plan, tap ••• and choose Download for offline. Search still needs a connection.

Signing out removes your downloads from the device. To clear them yourself, tap Manage in the Offline Library, then Remove all downloads.

How can I support Lyra Bible?
